The Royal Showhome
Step into the world of Legacy Lookout, a project that embodies the essence of modern farmhouse living, where Archdesign Cabinetry’s expertise is on display. As partners in this journey, we've lent our artistic touch to the Royal Show Home, infusing it with warmth, charm, and an undeniable uniqueness.
Meet Roberta Clark, the visionary interior designer who set the wheels of Legacy Lookout in motion. Seeking to craft a space that defies convention yet embraces the allure of contemporary comfort, Roberta shared, "I aimed for something beyond the ordinary, a modern farmhouse aesthetic that wraps you in cozy familiarity while exuding a distinct contemporary flair."
The heartbeat of the home resides in its kitchen, where Roberta's vision came to life. Her vision was to capture the rustic charm of a farmhouse while embracing seamless modernity, she collaborated with us to create the focal point of this show home.
Roberta's concept included cabinetry that brings the cozy farmhouse feeling of one-of-a-kind furniture pieces with the quality and precision that modern cabinetry provides. “I wanted to bring out the feeling of a traditional farmhouse by showcasing stand alone pieces that were seamless with the overall kitchen design. We chose a complementing colour for the island and a stain for the sink to make them feel like they were unique pieces.”
The chosen colour scheme of the design was inspired by the tile of the oven backsplash. “Once I found the tile, the whole picture came together.” The utilization of a statement stain and complementing colour give the feeling of separate pieces of furniture coming together in a cohesive design. Details like delicate crown moulding and an arched toe kick on the island feature the craftsmanship and attention of the Archdesign team. The separation of colours lends to the feel of stand-alone pieces coming together that Roberta had set out to achieve.
We wanted the cabinetry to have a flawless, painted finish which is why MDF was chosen for the majority of the cabinetry: a perfect canvas to add colour to. Maple was used strategically to add a natural warmth and texture on the sink vanity and pantry. The use of real wood turns any space into a one-of-a-kind design with the unique grain of each piece of cabinetry.
The journey to the end result was a collaboration from both sides. “Garold was great and easy to work with. We provided drawings of the home and he really made the vision come to life”.
There are so many small details that go into a kitchen design that, when they all come together, produce a stunning and functional space. Custom tailored for each space and lifestyle is a luxury you just can’t get with standardized cabinetry. Legacy Lookout is not just a home; it's an ode to design and comfort, and a celebration of individuality. The kitchen brings modern and traditional design together, inviting you to savour the simple pleasures of life in style.
