Storage Solutions to Maximize Your Space
With all of the collective experience at Archdesign, we can confidently say that it’s not the size of your kitchen that matters— it’s how you use the space you're given. We enjoy working with smaller spaces because it gives us a chance to get creative with our designs— with so many options available for smarter storage solutions, we can make the most of every space (big and small) so that you’re able to store everything you need for a functional and efficient kitchen.
Functionality has no limits; there are always things you can do to make your space smarter. When it comes to smaller spaces, the most important thing is to use what you have and add where you can. Here are 5 of our favourite ways to keep your kitchen organized and clutter-free:
Corner drawers: “The best space saver on the market”- Garold
These drawers are incredible for utilizing a tricky spot that usually gets overlooked. We’ve all lived in a home that had an awkward corner cabinet situation where you kept canned foods that were always a pain to get at. Corner drawers will fix that and breathe new life into your cabinets!
Two-tier utensil drawer:
This genius little hack gives you double the space for flatware and utensils. One drawer with a sliding top divider to reveal a second divider underneath. One small drawer packs a large, space-saving punch.
Spice Rack/Utensil pull-out:
You can bid farewell to rummaging through over-crowded drawers trying to find your favourite spatula. Or when you're in the middle of cooking and you forgot to add the cumin. Pull-outs for spice racks or large utensils is an easy way to make cooking and seasoning effortless and organized. We now put these in almost every kitchen because they are that good.
Garbage/recycling drawers:
Trash cans are like that cringe-worthy party photo. Keep them out of sight and free up space under the sink with a built-in bin pull-out. Your kitchen's Instagram game just levelled up.
Drawers:
Wherever you can fit them! Drawers are the simplest way to create more storage. Working with a smaller budget? Easy. This is a classic way to make everything accessible. Adding in 3- and 4-drawer banks is the way to go if you're looking to increase usable space. And if you’re able to add it in, a pantry roll-out is a no-brainer for food storage.
These options are only a few of our favourites, but there are many more ways to keep your kitchen organized and utilize every inch available. And these are not only for smaller spaces. Everyone can benefit from efficient storage. Contact us to learn more about how to create the most efficient kitchen possible!
